Here is the famous quote that my French grand-mère used to make quite often, so often in fact that it has been carried on down to me via my French mother.
"Moins on en dit, mieux ça vaut." -- Grand-mère Beaucourt.
Is there anyone out there who can translate it for us?
"The less said (about it), the better..."
oooo - thank you, jess, and thank you, kiffin....good words to remember...here is a saying, translated from french (because i don't know the french, but it has been attributed as a french proverb,) which i have found intriguing and useful, too: "Only he that would hide under the bed, would think to look there." Hmmm!
Sorry to nitpick.. Direct translation would say:
"The less we say, the more it's worth.."
Thanks for nitpicking, Mike. I am a stickler myself when it comes to accuracy, so I can appreciate the better translation. Makes more sense and is therefore more meaningful.
